Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today launched Google's Unified Payments Interface, UPI-based digital payment service Tez in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Jaitley said, Google team saw a great potential in the remonetization after the demonetization. <br/><br/>The Finance Minister said, the need for finding an alternative to cash was never at centrestage in India's economic agenda. He expressed confidence that what started as a compulsion for digitisation post-demonetisation will soon turn into convenience with the launch of Tez. <br/><br/>He said, Tez by Google and other service providers will make a major change in the digital payments landscape in India. The Finance Minister also did the first transaction on 'TEZ'. Google Tez supports several local languages including Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu.
