Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has said that, the concerns of the Trinamool Congress at the recent rising prices of Petrol is perfectly legitimate. He said that, any political party has the right to raise any discussion regarding any subject, with the Central Government. Pranab Mukherjee said that, a solution to any issue can be arrived at after discussions.

He was talking to newspersons after a lecture at National University of Judicial Sciences at Salt Lake City in Kolkata Saturday. He said, the Government control over petrol prices has been lifted from June last year. He said at present, four petroleum companies decide the price of petrol. Subsidy is being granted to all other petroleum products like diesel, cooking gas and kerosene.
