FM Jaitley asks Opposition parties not to obstruct reforms process

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has sought cooperation from Opposition parties and asked them not to obstruct or delay reforms process. Replying to the debate on the General Budget-2015-16 in Rajya Sabha yesterday, Mr Jaitley said, the country needs to have larger consensus for growth in country.The Finance Minister said, lower rates of taxes leads to better compliance and more revenue to public exchequer.He said, fiscal deficit and Current Account Deficit have come down drastically and inflation is under control whereas foreign exchange reserve position is comfortable. Mr Jaitley said, the Rupee is able to keep pace with the US dollar. He said, after acceptance of 14th Finance Commission's recommendations, the share of the states in divisible pool of taxes has increased from 32 to 42 per cent.
