Finance Ministry expects economic growth to be 5.5 per cent or more in the current financial year. In a statement, the ministry said that the advance estimates of five per cent GDP growth for 2012-13 by Central statistical organization, CSO, is disappointing. However, the ministry said that advance estimates had been revised in the past few years more than once as more data is available with CSO at a later stage. The statement added that the growth rate was overestimated in 2008-09 and 2011-12 while this time it is probably underestimated.
