Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that the Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) must learn how to function like any other business organisation in a competitive environment unlike a government department. Replying to supplementaries during question hour in the Rajya Sabha, he said, though 79 CPSEs have incurred losses out of which 49 are sick. He said, a total investment of one lakh, 57 thousand, 211 crore rupees has been invested in these CPSEs.The Minister said, the government has constituted the Board for Reconstruction of Public Sector Enterprises in December 2004, as an advisory body to address the task of strengthening, modernization, reviving and restructuring of CPSEs. The Finance Minister said, the government is making all efforts to revive 31 PSUs.
