Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today defended Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das following the attack by BJP MP Subramanian Swamy against him. In a tweet, without naming Mr. Das, he termed the charges as unfair and false on a disciplined civil servant in the Ministry. <br/><br/>Mr. Swamy has claimed that there might be a case pending against the Secretary for allegedly helping former Finance Minister P Chidambaram swallow real estate in Mahabalipuram. <br/><br/>Earlier, he had also demanded sacking of Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramanian alleging he had asked Congress to adopt a rigid stand on GST bill. <br/><br/>However, Mr. Jaitley had rejected allegations saying government has full confidence in him. Mr. Swamy had also criticized RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan accusing him of not being fully Indian. Later, the RBI Chief announced that he will not seek a second term.
