The surging floods are still wreaking havoc in Pakistan's Sindh province where Larkana’s Akil Loop bund has suffered erosion of 60 feet in length. The residents of Shahdadkot have been asked for complete evacuation of the city. The floodwater has compounded its pressure on safety embankments of Munarki, Surajani and Sonda Halaya bunds in district Thatta, causing more villages to be deluged under water. The inflow in Kotri Barrage has inundated ten more villages. Meanwhile, the huge devastations unfolded by the massive floods are feared to take Pakistan's leather industry worth one billion dollars in their lap. Pakistan Leather Garments Manufacturers And Exporters Association’s Chairman says a huge number of livestock have been destroyed by the flooding, to the effect that hides acquisition would drop by 15 to 20 percent. This would lead a 30 percent slump in exports.
