Floods play havoc in Bihar & UP

In Bihar, over three lakh people were hit by floods. AIR Patna correspondent reports that normal life in flood affected has been paralysed. A large portion of West Champaran district has been surrounded with flood water. Surging water of river has entered Sugauli block in East chamaparan district of the state. Vehicular traffic has been paralysed in flood affected areas of the state. According to Central Water Commission, Bagmati, Kosi and Gandak are flowing above danger mark at many places. The swollen rivers were putting constant pressure on embankments. Relief operations have been stepped up further in the flood-hit areas with the help of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel.In Uttar Pradesh the Flood situation is still grim and many rivers are flowing above the danger mark. Due to crack in a Charsadi Algin bridge dam this morning, over a dozen villages in Karnalganj thehsil of Gonda district have been submerged with Ghaghara water .According to district administration the relief teams have been rushed to the flood affected villages. Gonda, Barabanki, Bahraich, Farrukhabad, Ayodhya, Lakhimpur Khiri, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur and Pilibhit districts are still facing flood situation.
