In Bihar, over three lakh people were hit by floods. AIR Patna correspondent reports that normal life in flood affected has been paralysed. A large portion of West Champaran district has been surrounded with flood water. Surging water of river has entered Sugauli block in East chamaparan district of the state. Vehicular traffic has been paralysed in flood affected areas of the state. According to Central Water Commission, Bagmati, Kosi and Gandak are flowing above danger mark at many places. The swollen rivers were putting constant pressure on embankments. Relief operations have been stepped up further in the flood-hit areas with the help of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel.Uttar Pradesh continues to reel under severe flood as the major rivers; Ganga, Yamuna and Ramganga continue their rising trend. Several hundred villages and thousands of acres of land have been submerged in flood water. At least 7 people have perished in the incidents of house collapse and drowning. Four of them died in Farrukhabad and three in Gorakhpur. The level of Ganga is four centimetres below the highest flood level of 1998 at Narora barrage from where around 3.4 Lakh cusec water has been released yesterday. This has further raised the level of Ganga at various places. The district administrations have stepped up the flood relief operation.
