At least 237 people have died in South Eastern Brazil in the past 24 hours in flash floods and landslides. The number of those dead jumped after emergency services managed to reach a town which had been cut off by rising river waters. Parts of Australia also remained gripped by severe flooding. Thousands of homes in Australia's third largest city, Brisbane, has been submerged by muddy waters that surged through the streets. Many people have fled.
