Floods claim 45 lives in Vietnam

In Vietnam, 45 people have been killed in floods in the central provinces of the country since Sunday. Vietnamese authorities said although the flood waters receded, 36 communes in Ha Tinh province remained completely isolated. In Quang Binh, about 106 communes were flooded and damaged. In Thua Thien-Hue province, over 1,450 houses were flooded and more than 1,800 hectares of crops were destroyed.According to the committee, the massive flash flood has damaged several infrastructure facilities, including road, railway, bridge, schools, houses and a number of public houses.
