Flood waters enter over 2,000 houses in Bihar’s two districts

In Bihar, flood waters have entered over 2,000 houses in Muzaffarpur and Sitamarhi districts following a breach in the embankment of Bagmati river Monday morning.AIR Patna correspondent reports that low lying areas of the two districts have been flooded. Surging water of Rato river has engulfed Sri Khandi Bhitha village bordering Nepal in Sitamarhi district.Flood affected people have taken shelter on higher places. Flash floods caused by incessant rain in the catchment area of the Gandak river and heavy discharge of water from Vamikinagar barrage inundated several villages in Goalganj district also.Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said that the state government is fully geared to face any eventuality.
