Flood under control in Punjab

<br/>In Punjab, barring Sangrur district, the flood situation in all other five affected districts of the state is under control as the accumulated flood-water has started receding.<br/><br/>These districts are Patiala, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali and Ropar. The situation in many parts of the most affected Patiala district has also improved. However, due to the increased discharge of floodwater, which has flowed through Ghaggar river via Sangrur, another breach has occurred resulting in affecting total fifty villages in Sangrur district.<br/><br/>Punjab Irrigation Minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon has confirmed to AIR Jalandhar correspondent that the situation in these fifty villages of Sangrur will take some time to come under control. Relief and rescue operations are on.
