In Orissa, major rivers including Hati, Bansadhara, Indravati are hovering around danger level and showing rising trend. Many parts of Orissa experienced heavy rains in the last 48 hours under the impact of low pressure formed over Bay of Bengal. Heavy rains continued especially in Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nowrangpur, Malkangiri and Koraput disrupting normal life. Large number of people in these districts have been marooned in the flood water since last 24 hours. At total of 7 people have died so far due to flood. Similarly, 28 roads have been disconnected due to the flood water. The Air Force station at Kalaikunda has been alerted for help and collectors of flood-affected districts have been directed to provide relief to the marooned people.
