Flood threat continues to loom large in national capital

The flood threat continues to loom large in national capital with Yamuna river flowing more than two meters above the danger mark .This follows the heavy downpour in its catcment areas and release of more water from the Hathini Kund Barrage.According to the Delhi Flood Control Department, the water level may rise to 207.30 meter tomorrow with this fresh release of water into the river. Our correspondent reports that more than 9000 people have already been shifted to the relief camps set up by Delhi Government from the low lying areas like Usmanpur, Gahri Mandu,ChillaVillage, Geeta Colony . The Old Yamun Bridge has already been closed as a precautionary measure which has led to the diversion of road and rail traffic.
