In Uttar Pradesh, at least 19 people were killed during last 24 hours in rain-related incidents in the state. Flood situation aggravated in several districts after discharge of lakhs of cusecs of water from different barrages and dams to the rivers. AIR Lucknow correspondent reports traffic on a number of National Highways, including Rampur-Nainital highway, remained affected due to flood as water is yet to recede in many areas of the state. Traffic on Bareilly-Delhi National Highway and Bijnore-Hardwar national highway remained affected for the past two days due to deluge. Flood water also submerged a portion of Rampur-Nainital National Highway. Seven trains have been cancelled in the region in the wake of the deluge. The Northern Railways has set up helpline numbers for passengers stranded at Dehradun and Moradabad stations due to the flood. The helpline numbers at Moradabad are: 0591-2413152, 0591-2420005 and at Dehradun is: 0135-2624003.In Bareilly, flood has affected more than 250 villages. At least six people died in separate house collapse incidents in the district. Army men have been pressed into service for rescue measures. As per reports, the discharge of about 7 lakh cusecs water from Hathinikund barrage has increased the volume of Yamuna River. High-alert was sounded in Kanshiram Nagar district, following discharge of 2.65 lakh cusecs of water from Haridwar dam. A large population was also affected in Gonda after discharge of 3.79 lakh cusecs water from Banbasa barrage in Nepal. Thousands of people have become shelter less due to deluge. The Ganga River was flowing one metre above danger mark in Badaun district after five lakh cusecs of water was released from the Narora dam.According to the Central Water Commission, Ganga is flowing almost at danger mark in Kannauj, Ramabai Nagar, Kanpur and Rae Bareilly and was rising in Allahabad, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Ghazipur and Ballia. Ramganga is flowing above red mark in Moradabad and is rising in Bareilly and Shahjahanpur.Yamuna is flowing above danger mark a in Mathura and is swelling at Baghpat, Etawah, Auraiyya, Allahabad and Banda. Sharda River is flowing at danger mark at Kheri, while Ghaghara is above the danger mark in Barabanki, Ayodhya and Ballia districts.
