In Bihar, the flood situation has worsened in eastern parts of the state. Bhagalpur, Khagaria and Munger are the worst affected districts.<br/><br/>Over 34 lakh people are reeling under the impact of flood. 59 people have so far died in flood related incidents. According to central water commission, Burhi Gandak is flowing above danger mark at Khagaria. Ganga is maintaining rising trend at Kahalgaon in Bhagalpur and is flowing above danger mark. River Punpun is also above danger mark at Sripalpur. Flood water has entered Naugachia divisional jail. <br/><br/>Over two hundred inmates of this jail are being shifted to Bhagalpur central jail. Local court of Naugachia has also been flooded. Flood water has breached at several places on NH80, affecting vehicular traffic. Surging water has entered over one dozen pachayats under Kursaila block of Katihar district. Low lying areas of Munger and Khagaria are also inundated.
