The flood situation in Uttar Pradesh is still grim. Despite almost no rain for last twenty four hours but due to rain and release of water from over flowing rivers in Uttarakhandand and Nepal created spate innaga, Yamuna, Rmagnaga, ghghra ,Sharda ,rapti and Saryu rivers at different places and submerged several villages .Muradabad,shjahhnapur, Bijnore,Bareilly, Meerut, Gonda , Ballia,Barabanki,Baharich pilibhit and lakhimpur khiri farukhhabad districts are flood affected .At least five people were lost their lives in last twenty four hours . Three children drowned in Yamuna river in Allahabad when they were bathing in flooded water.About fifteen hundred villages are flooded in the state and flood situation is worsened in some areas of western and eastern UP.Rains in Nepal have caused floods in Ghaghara, Sharda, Rapti and Saryu. Rivers. Floods in Sharda have affected scores of villages in Lakhimpur and Sitapur. Rapti has flooded many villages in Balrampur, Siddhartha agar and Basti.While spate in river Ganga, Ramganga and Kosi has played havoc and damaged crops in thousands of acres of land.The road transport connecting Delhi and Uttrakhand with western UP districts is still disrupted. However National highway between Delhi to Lucknow has opened for light weight vehicles after five days .According to reports three to four feet water is still logged in at least thirty villages of Muradabad. According to central water commission Yamuna is rising in Agra and flowing above the danger mark in Mathura. And Ganga is also above the danger mark in Fathehgarh, Kanpur and Ballia districts and rising in Allahabad and Varanasi.In Uttarakhand, roads leading to Gangotri and Badrinath shrines are disrupted due to debris at various places. Supply of essential commodities have been affected at a few places in the Garhwal region. Rain was experienced at isolated places on Sunday night.
