In Uttar Pradesh the flood situation is still grim affecting lakhs of people in hundreds of villages in 14 districts. AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that heavy rain in neighboring states Uttarakhand and Haryana and in Nepal and release of heavy water from dams and barrages have worsened the situation. The increase in water level of the Ganga and Ramganga rivers has played havoc in Bareilly, Moradabad, Rampur, Shahjahanpur, Bijnor and Muzaffarnagar. AIR correspondent says, the highways connecting Lucknow-Delhi and Delhi with western districts of the state and Uttarakhand remained disrupted.
