In Assam, the flood situation in Barpeta, Dhemaji, Sonitpur, Golaghat and Jorhat remain unchanged. Official sources in Guwhati on Tuesday said that flood water submerged 325 villages in those districts. But the Brahmaputra and some of its tributaries constantly flowing above danger level at six places. Flood water washed away a portion of railway track in Lakhimpur district on Tuesday night causing disruption of rail traffic between Rangia and Mokakchang.
