Flood situation remains grim in UP

The flood situation in many western and Eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh is still grime. Though there is almost no rain fall in the state but rain in neighbouring Uttrakhand and Nepal and release of water from barrages have led to flood in twenty seven districts of the state. Road transport remained disrupted in western parts .Over three thousand villages of twenty seven districts have been affected by flood in the state for many days .at least five hundred villages have submerged in flood and more than nine thousand houses have been completely or partially damaged. Sixty thousand people are staying in shelter homes in the flood affected areas.According to Central water commission in some places situation has improved and Ganga is now receding in farukkhabad, Knaauj and Kanpur dehat, but Ramganga is rising in muradabad.Ghghra is still lowing above the danger mark in Gonda Barabanki and other places .According to relief commissioner 54 medical teams are working overnight in flood affected districts but reports are also coming that a large number of people are suffering from Communicable and viral diseases.
