Flood situation remains grim in Uttar Pradesh. The State government says that twenty seven districts are flood affected and thousands of hectares of agriculture land are submerged in water. Saryu River is flowing more than one meter above the danger mark in Gonda and Ayodha. Ghaghara is still above the danger mark in Gonda ,Barabanki, and in Ballia. According to Central water commission Ramganga is flowing above the danger mark in Shahjhanpur .Ganga is overflowing and above the danger mark at six places in the state and continue to rise alarmingly in Allahabad. 116 people have lost their lives due to flood in this month alone. Hundred of villages and thousands of people in Uttar Pradesh have been affected by floods. The Ganga, Yamuna, Ghaghra, and Ramganga rivers are in full spate in many places of Uttar Pradesh. 102 villages in Barabanki and 115 villages in Gonda are still flooded. More than two hundred villages are flood affected in Farukkhabad district. Lakhs of people from twenty seven districts are facing the fury of raging floods. Besides divers and rescue teams from the PAC, three teams from national disaster rescue force have also been deployed in the flood affected areas. According to the district administrations, food packets are being distributed to people in the affected areas. In Uttarakhand, Rishikesh-Gangotri national highway was opened yesterday for light vehicles after more than two weeks. But on other hand, Yamunotri route was closed following landslides. Weather was mainly clear in major parts of the state on Saturday.
