Flood situation continues to be grim in Bihar. Over 40 lakh people spread over 26 districts including Patna, Katihar, Samastipur and Munger are reeling under the impact of floods. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said the state government is closely monitoring the situation and all possible help is being provided to the affected people.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">Several rivers including the Ganga, Sone, Punpun and Kosi are flowing above the danger marks. Vehicular traffic has been disrupted at several places. Over four thousand three hundred roads including national and state highways roads have been damaged due to flood across the state. Train services on Bhagalpur-Munger section and the Kiul-Bhagalpur section remained suspended on the sixth day consecutively due to submergence of Railway tracks at several places. Long route trains have been diverted on alternative routes. Railways have cancelled 12 special trains and diverted routes of 15 other trains on Jamalpur- Sahibganj and  Jamalpur ' Bhagalpur section of Malda Division of Eastern railway due to waterlogging on tracks.</span><br />

In Bihar, flood situation remained grim in flood affected areas of the state. Several rivers including Kosi,Bagmati and Gandak are flowing above danger mark. Surging water of river Kosi entered into over three hundred houses in Supaul district following  breach of Dagmara embankment. People are being shifted to safer places. Over one lakh ten thousand people have been evacuated so far.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">Over 17 lakh people of the state are reeling under the impact of flood. Ten districts including Darbhanga, Madhubani, East and West Champara are  under the  grip of flood. Vehicular traffic has been disrupted at several places. 16 teams of NDRF and SDRF have pressed into relief and rescue operations. 216 community kitchens have been set up to provide cooked food to affected people of the state. Medical teams have been deployed in affected areas for covid vaccination.</span><br />

In Bihar, the flood situation turned critical with rising water level of several rivers including Mahananda, Kosi, Bagmati, Gandak and Kamla Balan. <br/><br/>Fresh areas of Motihari, Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga and Sitamarhi have been inundated. <br/><br/>The Saran embankment has been breached and over dozen villages have been flooded in Gopalganj district. Over one crore people across 18 districts are reeling under the impact of floods. 149 people have so far died in flood related different incidents.<br/><br/>Over 4 lakh 30 thousand people have been shifted to safer places. Over 3 lakh people are taking shelter in 1238 relief camps. 43 teams of NDRF and SDRF are carrying out relief and rescue operations in the affected areas.<br/><br/>Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has instructed officials to step up relief and rescue operations on war foot level. <br/><br/>The government's priority has now shifted to providing relief materials to the marooned people,while the evacuation of trapped people has also been going on.Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh today visited flood affected areas of East Champaran district and held review meeting at Motihari.<br/><br/>Besides 330 boats over two thousand country boats are engaged in rescue operations. Two helicopters were engaged in air dropping of dry packets among flood victims.1646 Community kitchen have also been set up and cooked food is being distributed. <br/><br/>The unprecedented floods have heavily hit the states infrastructure road and rail network as 124 national and state highway have been severely damaged.As many as 39 trains were cancelled due to floods.

In Bihar, the flood situation still continues grim as over 96 lakh people across 12 districts are reeling under the impact of flood. The death toll in flood has risen to 91. The state government has announced an ex gratia of four lakh rupees to the next of kin of each of the deceased. <br/><br/>Over 2 lakh 50 thousand people have been shifted to safer places. More than 340 relief camps have been set up in the affected areas and about one lakh people are taking shelter in these camps. <br/><br/>Relief and rescue operations are in full swing. Besides army jawans 37 teams of the National and State Disaster Response Force teams are carrying out rescue operations.<br/><br/>Two helicopters have also been pressed into service. Food packets are being airdropped in the affected areas. Rail traffic between Sitamarhi and Darbhanga has been stopped as railway tracks have been damaged.

The flood situation remained grim in Bihar, while absence of major downpour led to slight improvement in West Bengal. The toll in Bihar floods has risen to 91. <br/><br/>Special secretary in Bihar disaster management department, Anirudh Kumar yesterday said that more than 69 lakh people are in the grip of floods which has engulfed 98 blocks of 13 districts. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made his second aerial survey of flood-hit areas yesterday. <br/><br/>Addressing the Independence Day programme in state capital Patna, Mr Kumar expressed concern over the "grim flood situation" and said the flood was caused by incessant rains in Nepal. <br/><br/>He said that the situation is grim in north Bihar, where rivers are flowing above the danger level and have caused immense loss and damage.<br/>'<br/>In north Bengal, nearly a lakh people are suffering in the deluge. Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar are worst affected districts. Many of the flood affected have taken shelter in relief camps. <br/><br/>In the absence of major rains yesterday, water levels of all major rivers in north Bengal which were flowing above the danger marks, have now come down to some extent. <br/>'<br/>Meanwhile, a North East Frontier Railway in a release said in Guwahati that with railway tracks flooded at many places in Katihar and Alipurduar divisions of Northeast Frontier Railways, a number of long distance trains have either been cancelled, diverted and short terminated.<br/>
