In Assam, 3 deaths have been reported this morning due to flood, taking the death toll to 7 during last 24 hours. Apart from flood, land erosion has also been reported at several places including outskirts of Guwahati. Meanwhile, flood situation in areas of Lower Assam still remains grim. Official data said that above 20 lakh 50 thousand people have been inundated in 20 districts.<br/><br/>Goalpara, Barpeta and Morigaon are among the worst affected districts. Several rivers including the Brahmaputra are in spate. Rescue and relief operations are being carried out by the army, NDRF and SDRF. Surface communications have not fully restored in many flood affected areas. Nearly 2 lakh people are staying at relief camps. Though district administrations are giving relief materials, affected people alleged that they have not received sufficient food items.
