The overall flood situation in Assam remains grim as administration intensified rescue works in Dhemaji district and Sadia. State Principal Secretary of Revenue department V K Peepersenia said that helicopter services have been pressed into service to air drop food items at Sadia of Tinsukia district this evening as strong current of flood water prevented the army and NDRF personnel to reach through water routes.
National and State Disaster Response Force On Saturday rescued around four thousand flood affected people in Dhemaji district. Ten relief camps have been set up by administration in Dhemaji. One youth was drowned in Marigaon district while surging water inundated some areas at Mayang and Bhuragaon in the district. State Power minister visited Tinsukia district and took stock of the situation. Around 35 thousand people are staying at relief camps in the district. Forest department has intensified patrolling at Kaziranga National Park. Surging water inundated some anti-poaching camps.
