The overall flood situation in Assam remains grim as administration intensified rescue works in Dhemaji district and Sadia. Helicopter services have been pressed into service to rescue marooned people in Sadia of Tinsukia district this evening. National and State Disaster Response Force today rescued around four thousand flood affected people in Dhemaji district.
Ten relief camps have been set up by administration in Dhemaji.One youth was drowned in Marigaon district while surging water inundated some areas at Mayang and Bhuragaon in the district. State Power minister visited Tinsukia district and took stock of the situation. Around 35 thousand people are staying at relief camps in the district. Forest department has intensified patrolling at Kaziranga National Park. Surging water inundated some anti-poaching camps of the park.
