Flood situation in UP improves as water level recedes in major rivers

In Uttar Pradesh the flood situation has improved with all major rivers including the Ganga, Yamuna, Ghaghra, Sharda, Rapti and Gomti are flowing well below the danger mark. River Saryu near Ayodhya is also receding at a considerable pace but it is still flowing around 20 cms above the danger mark.

Talking to AIR NEWS, state relief commissioner L Venketeshwarlu said that conditions in the flood affected areas are totally under control. He said that almost all the flood affected persons have returned to their home from relief and rescue camps. Relief Commissioner said that teams of the doctors have been deployed in the areas where flood water receded, to avert the danger of endemics in the aftermath of the floods.
