Flood situation in North Bihar still grim

Flood situation in North Bihar is still grim. In the downward urban areas of Darbhanga water is spreading continuously. Due to a break in Neemabund on Saturday, water is still spreading in Hanuman Nagar, Hayaghat and Bahadurpur blocks. Traffic is halted on the Darbhanga-Jaynagar National Highway number one hundred five. District Magistrate R. Lakshmanan after visiting the flood affected area ordered the officers to arrange for boats to bring people blocked in water to safe place. On the other side flood situation in Tariyani block of Sheohar district is serious. Water is logged in many offices of the block headquarters. Nearly one and half feet water is logged in government hospital. Traffic is paralyzed on the Sheohar-Muzzaffarpur road even on the seventh day today due to water logging. District administration has made available fifteen thousand quintal wheat and sixteen thousand quintal rice to distribute among the flood affected people of Alamnagar and Chausa blocks of Madhepura districts.
