Flood situation in Gonda distrist of UP remains grim

In Uttar Pradesh , widespread rain was recorded in the eastern part of the state in last twenty four hours. The flood situation in Gonda district is still grim following breach in Elgin-Charsari embankment and its supporting bund of Ghaghara river. The administration has deployed about two hundred boats in flood affected areas in Gonda district. More than ten thousand people have taken shelter in relief camps provided by district administration. According to central water commission, the Ghaghara river is flowing about fifty centimetres above the danger mark at Elgin Bridge in Barabanki and also in Ayodhya.
