Flood situation in Devipatan and Faizabad divisions of UP still grim

The Flood situation in Devipatan and Faizabad divisions of Uttar Pradesh is still grim and Ghaghara is creating havoc in Gonda, Barabanki, Ballia, and other places. The state government has confirmed four deaths in Gonda district so far where Ghaghra river water submerged more than seventy villages of Gonda and Barabanki district. A large area of these two districts has been submerged after rupture at Charsari dam appeared three days ago. The Tarabganj and Karnalganj Thehesil of Gonda are worst affected.The state Relief Commissioner K.K.Sinha visited Gonda on Monday and takes the stock of the situation there. He also hold meeting with senior officers on flood situation in Devipatan and Faizabad division. The Relief Commissioner has said that the complete repair work only be possible after receding of water in Ghaghara river. Meanwhile, a center’s national disaster relief team has also arrived in Gonda to help the local administration.
