The flood situation in Uttar Pradesh remains grim. About 10 lakh people in 17 districts are badly affected.In Bihar, 14 people have so far been died in different flood related incidents in flood affected areas of the state.According to Disaster Management Department maximum number of ten causalities was reported from Bhagalpur, Khagaria and Vaishali districts.AIR Patna correspondent reports, 11 of 38 districts of the state are reeling under the impact of flood.The worst affected district is Bhagalpur where flood water overtopped at many places between Naugachia and Rangra Chowk. The Naugachia town was facing a serious flood threat due to overtopping the highway.As a preventive measures the district authorities directed officials to remove files and other important papers to safer places. Five teams of the National Disaster Response Force( NDRF) have been deployed in flood hit districts. In Punjab, flood situation in Kapurthala and Fazilka districts and some other places is still grave as extra water is being released from Pong dam in Beas river.Additional water has also been released from Harike into Satluj due to which water level has increased in the river at Firozepur. A small bridge was washed away near Husaini Wala in Firozepur and link of 22 villages of the district got snapped with the other areas.Punjab government officials are providing all possible help to the people in the flooded areas.
