Flood situation in Bihar and UP remain grim

The flood situation in Uttar Pradesh remains grim. About 10 lakh people in 17 districts are badly affected. In Bihar, 14 people have so far been died in different flood related incidents in flood affected areas of the state. According to Disaster Management Department maximum number of ten causalities was reported from Bhagalpur, Khagaria and Vaishali districts. AIR Patna correspondent reports, 11 of 38 districts of the state are reeling under the impact of flood. The worst affected district is Bhagalpur where flood water overtopped at many places between Naugachia and Rangra Chowk. The Naugachia town was facing a serious flood threat due to overtopping the highway. As a preventive measures the district authorities directed officials to remove files and other important papers to safer places. Five teams of the National Disaster Response Force( NDRF) have been deployed in flood hit districts.
