In Assam, the over all flood situations in Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj districts of Barak Valley has further improved today. The flood situation in the valley has shown remarkable improvement in Cachar and Hailakandi districts except in the worst flood hit Karimganj distrct, where it is improving gradually. In the current flood wave, around 4 lakh people of Karimganj district spreads over 4 hundred villages have been badly affected.<br/> Meanwhile, the death toll in the valley in the current flood rises to seven with drowning of one more person by the flood water in Cachar district. Our AIR correspondent reports that <br/>The Assam Revenue Minister, Shri Bhumidhar Barman is visiting today the worst flood affected Karimganj district of the state for on the spot assessment of the situation. Later in the day, he will review the steps taken by the district administration in mitigating the sufferings of the flood affected people.<br/>The state revenue minister who is on a two-day visit to Barak valley has asked the district administration of Cachar to submit detail report of the damages caused by the flood for further assistance from the state government. The state revenue minister reviewed the latest flood situation of the Cachar district with high ranking officials yesterday at Silchar after arrival from Guwahati to assess the extent of damages caused by the flood. The minister also visited some of the badly flood affected areas of the district besides relief camps.<br/>
