In Arunachal Pradesh, flood situation improves after rainfall declined during the past two days. Water level of the Lohit, Namchik, Noa-Dehing, Kamlang and other rivers are reported to be receding. Situation in the worse hit Lohit, Changlang and Namsai districts is improving gradually. In Changlang, flood affected people taking shelter at the Jairampur Government Higher Secondary School are reported to be going back to their places as the water level of the Namchik River has come down considerably. Anjaw distict is still cut off from other parts of the state. Deputy Commissioner, Anjaw, has informed that the road communication will be restored in a couple of days.<br/><br/>In Assam, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today made an aerial survey of the flood hit areas. Official sources said that Gogoi made aerial survey of Kokrajhar, Chirang, Bongaigaon and Dhubri districts to take stock of the situation. Meanwhile, despite flowing above the danger level, water level of rivers including the Brahmaputra has started to recede. There was also respite from heavy downpour. <br/><br/>Chief Executive Officer of the state, Disaster Management Authority said that the overall flood situation is improving. Official data said that around 6 lakh 16 thousand people in 18 districts have been inundated in flood. 1 lakh 80 thousand population are staying at government run relief camps.<br/>AIR correspondent reports, this was the third wave of flood in Assam of this year, which caused large scale damage and left thousands of people homeless. The first flood of the session was recorded in 12 districts in first part of June affecting over 2 lakh people. The second flood was reported from 26th of June to the 1st of August in 11 districts of Assam. Facing to wrath of natural calamities every year, the Assam government is planning to take help of Remote Sensing and GIS for monitoring the changes in River system. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, around 6 lakh 16 thousand people in 18 districts have been inundated in current flood. 1 lakh 80 thousand population are staying at government run relief camps.
