In Assam, the over all flood situation in three districts of Barak Valley has further improved today following continuous falling of the water levels in almost all the rivers of the valley. <br/><br/>The flood has caused havoc among the people of the valley in general and the people living in low-lying areas in particular. The flood has so far claimed six lives. <br/><br/>More than five lakh people of over one thousand villages of Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi districts of the valley have been affected badly.<br/><br/>The backbone of the economy of the valley, the agricultural sector has also been badly affected by the current flood.
