<span style="color: #222222;">In Odisha, the flood situation in the northern parts has improved with the water level falling in all the major rivers. Should that happen, the villages which have enjoyed a brief respite will be forced to be back to square one.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, keeping in view the post-flood scenario, the state health department has set up 210 medical relief camps with 125 mobile teams to provide health care for the affected people. Similarly, 193 veterinary teams have also been deployed in the flood ravaged areas to take care of the ailing animals.</span><br />

In Odisha, the flood situation is improving in northern parts of the state with water receding in Subarnarekha, Budhabalanga, Baitarani and Jalaka rivers. In Balasore, the worst-affected in the flood, more than 400 villages are still marooned, while road communication to several parts of have been disrupted. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has requested Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to provide an advance assistance of 1,000 crore rupees to the state for reconstruction works in the cyclone and flood-hit areas. The Odisha Government has stepped up relief and rescue operation in flood-hit districts of Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Keonjhar. Dry foods and other essential items are being sent to the marooned people with the help of boats. The flood condition in Balasore Sadar, Remuna, Basta, Baliapal and Jaleswar blocks of Balasore district continue to remain grim as many people are marooned in the flood water. Life in Ganjam, the worst affected district in Cyclone Phailin, has become miserable with no power supply, drinking water and medicines since four days. Odisha's Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Surya Narayan Patro has said distribution of relief to the affected people would continue for the next 14 days. The state government has decided to submit a report on the damage and loss of property to the Centre seeking immediate assistance for rehabilitation work. Cyclone Phailin and resultant floods have affected about two crore people in Odisha. As many as 28 persons were killed, seven of them in floods.
