The flood situation in Uttar Pradeshhas worsened with most of the divisions including Gorakhpur, Basti, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Lucknow and Kanpur experiencing incessant rainfall for last three to five days.

More areas heve been inundated due to upsurge in rivers including the Ganga, Ghaghra, Saryu, Gandak, Rapti and Ken.

Ghaghra is flowing above the danger mark at many places in Gonda, Bahraich and Barabanki.
