There is no let up in the flood situation in the country. Several parts of the country continues to reel under flood. In Uttar Pradesh, the flood situation is still grim and many rivers are flowing above the danger mark. Due to crack in a Charsadi Algin bridge dam this morning, over a dozen villages in Karnalganj tehsil of Gonda district have been submerged with Ghaghara water. More than fifty thousand people of about three dozen villages have been affected. Unconfirmed reports say that some people have been washed away in the sudden flood. Senior officials are now camping there to monitor relief and rescue operations. According to district administration,relief teams have been rushed to the flood affected villages. Gonda, Barabanki, Bahraich, Farrukhabad, Ayodhya, Lakhimpur Khiri, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur and Pilibhit districts are still facing flood situation. In Bihar, normal life has been badly affected in flood affected area as over 3 lakh people are facing the flood fury. The worst affected area are West Champaran, Muzafarpur and Darbhanga. In Gujarat, heavy rain is lashing border district of Kutch with high velocity wind since early morning. AIR correspondent reports that several trees were uprooted and roofs of houses were blown off in Vagad area. In Bhuj city, low-lying areas are submerged due to torrential rain. The national capital, Delhi can look forward to bright and sunny weather on the weekend after experiencing heavy rains over the past few days. This has been one of the wettest August in over a decade with the city receiving 455 mm of rainfall during the month, which is 112 percent above normal.
