<br/>In Assam, the over all flood situation in three districts of Barak valley continues to remain grim with the inundation of new low-lying areas by the flood water of mighty Barak and other rivers. <br/> <br/>Almost all the rivers of the valley except Katakhal are flowing above the danger marks. In Silchar town of Cachar district, pump sets have been pressed into service to drain out the flood waters.<br/> <br/>According to Central Water Commission, river Barak is flowing about ten centimetres above danger level at Silchar. Kushiara is flowing about one metre and 36 centimetres above danger mark in Karimganj, while Katakhal in Hailakandi district is flowing about a metre below the danger mark.<br/> <br/>Distribution of relief materials to the flood affected people by the district authorities are continuing. But, many of the flood affected people have complained that they are provided with small amount of rice and pulse whereas they need more relief. Many political parties and organisation of the valley have also demanded sufficient relief to the flood affected people.<br/> <br/>Meanwhile, many charitable agencies, political parties and other voluntary organisations are also extending helps in providing food and other relief materials to the flood affected people of the valley.<br/>
