In Bihar, flood affected people today heaved a sigh of relief with the overall improvement in the flood situation in the state. The water level of all major rivers except Bagmati are receding. The water resource department said, the water discharge from river Kosi and Gandak were reported to be within the limits. The flood situation in East and West Champaran has also been eased. Rail traffic on Narkatiyaganj – Raxaul section of East – Central Railway has been restored. Rail traffic on this section was suspended following submerging of rail tracks due to flood. Meanwhile, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said, that there was no need to panic due to flood as the government was ready to face any eventuality. He said that a team of national Disaster Response Force is camping in Saharsa with boats.

Flood situation eases in Bihar
