In Assam, the flood situation in the Karimganj district of Barak Valley has further deteriorated following heavy rains in the catchment areas. About 350 villages have been inundated affecting about 3 lakh 50 thousand people. <br/><br/>According to Central Water Commission sources at Silchar, Singla, Longai and Kushiara rivers of the district are still flowing well above the danger marks. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, three farmers were killed and four others injured when lightning struck them in Morigaon district on Sunday in Brahmaputra Valley of the state as heavy rains continued to lash the region. <br/><br/>The incident happened at Thengbhanga area when the seven farmers who were camping in a hut in their paddy field for harvesting were struck by a thunderbolt. <br/><br/>While three of them died on the spot, four others injured were rushed to Gauhati Medical College Hospital. The district has been hit by torrential rains accompanied by thunder since the last few days.<br/>
