The flood situation has deteriorated in Bihar with new areas coming under water in East Champaran, Gopalganj and Supaul districts. According to Central Water Commission, Kosi, Bagmati, Burhi Gandak and Kamla Balan rivers are flowing above the danger level posing serious threat to their embankment at many places. AIR Patna correspondent reports that flood has affected 4 lakh people and thousands of them have been forced to flee their homes and take shelter on highways and embankments. Rail traffic on Narkatiyaganj-Raxaul section of East Central Railway remained suspended after flood waters submerged railway tracks. Flood waters have also entered Raxaul Railway Station.
