Flood situation continues to remain grim in Bihar

In Bihar, food situation continues to remain grim with Kosi, Bagmati, Burhi Gandak and Adhwara group of rivers flowing above danger level. Rail traffic on Narkatiyaganj-Raxaul section has been suspended after flood waters submerged railway tracks. Passengers are facing hardship following suspension of train services. Our Patna correspondent reports that flood waters also entered Sikta Railway Station on the section. Water level in Kosi, Gandak and Bagmati rivers are rising following heavy rain in the catchment areas in neighbouring Nepal. Flood waters have also inundated low lying areas of West Champaran, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi and Gopalganj districts. Met office has predicted heavy rain in the state during next 24 hours.
