In Assam, the flood situation of the three districts of Barak valley including worst hit Karimganj district remains unchanged on Friday with the inundation of more new areas by the surging flood water of mighty Barak and other rivers of the valley. Almost all the rivers of the valley are flowing above the danger mark with rising trends.<br/> <br/>In Karimganj District, the jawans of the National Disaster Response Force with engine boats have swung into action and are assisting the district administration in relief and rescue works in the flood affected areas.<br/> <br/>In the neighbouring Cachar and Hailakandi districts of the valley, the district administrations have geared up with precautionary measures to meet any eventuality and educational institutions and other safer places have been identified to set up a relief camps for the flood affected people.<br/> <br/>AIR Correspondent reports, the district authorities have geared up relief and rescue operations in the flood affected areas. But, many of the flood affected people have complained that they are provided with small amount of rice and pulse whereas they need more relief. <br/> <br/>The parties, CPI, BJP, CPM, Samajbadi Party, Asom Gana Parishad and AIUDF have also demanded sufficient relief to the flood affected people.<br/> <br/>Meanwhile, several national agencies including Bharat Sevashram Sangha besides other voluntary organisations have also extending help in providing food and other relief materials to the flood affected people.<br/>
