<span style="color: #222222;">In Bihar, flood situation continues to be grim as water level of several rivers including Bagmati, Burhi Gandak, Kosi and Ganga is rising.<br />''<br />'' These rivers are flowing above danger marks. Surging waters of rivers are engulfing fresh areas in Darbhanga, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur and Gopalganj. Normal life has been paralysed in flood affected areas of the state and people are moving to safer places.<br />''<br />'' Rail and road traffic have been disrupted in flood ravaged areas of the state. The railways has suspended ten trains on Samastipur – Darbhanga rail section of East central railway following increasing pressure of flood water on Gandak bridge in Samastipur district. Long distance trains have been diverted on alternative routes. Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi said relief and rescue operations have stepped up in affected areas. Relief camps have been set up in marooned areas. Community kitchens have also been set up and free food is being provided to flood victims.</span><br />

In Bihar, flood situation continues to be grim in Darbhanga, Samastipur Muzaffarpur and Gopalganj districts. Flood waters spread in many localities of Darbhanga including Bahadurpur, Ghanshyampur and Hanumangar. Surging water of Burhi Gandak has engulfed new areas of Samastipur and Muzaffarpur districts.<br/><br/>Bagmati, Kareh and Adhwara rivers are flowing above danger mark and are maintaining a rising trend. Over one crore 50 lakh people are reeling under the impact of flood. 367 people have so far died in flood related incidents. Rail traffic between Darbhanga and Samastipur continues to be disrupted for the last five days.<br/><br/>Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today visited the worst affected areas of Araria, Kishanganj and Katihar. Mr Kumar visited various relief camps and took stock of the situation.The Chief Minister said compensation will be paid to each victims after assessing damage of public property and crops.<br/><br/>He said the state government will submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister for providing central assistance for flood ravaged people of the state. Meanwhile all BJP MLAs have donated one month salary to the Chief Minister Relief fund. Similarly Ministers of BJP quota have also donated their three months salaries to the relief fund.

The Flood situation in Bihar continues to be grim as the Ganga and its tributaries Gandak, Boorhi Gandak and Baghmati are on the rise. Flood water has inundated many villages of Vaishali, Patna, Khagaria, Bhojpur, Begusarai, Arwal, East and West Champaran and Sheohar. The District Administration is carrying out relief operations. Teams of National Distaster Relief Force are rescueing people to safer places. State Water Resources Department has sounded a new alert among their engineers to remain watchful and patrol the vulnerable points of the embankments which are reported to safe so far. AIR correspondent reports, River Baghmati and Gandak are also on the rise. Many areas of Muzzafarpur, Sitamarhi and Darbhanga are inundated. Water is overflowing on many national highways including NH-19, causing road disconnectivity between District headquarters. Flood water have also disrupted train services between Muzzafarpur and Motipur. The Sone river has however registered a fall in its level as such the situation in Rohtash district has started impoving.
