Flood situation continues to be grim in Bihar and UP

The flood situation continues to be grim as Kosi, Gandak and Bagmati rivers are still on spate. AIR correspondent reports that surging water of these rivers have engulfed fresh areas in Gopalganj, West Champaran and Muzaffarpur districts of the state. The train services in Samastipur Division have been badly hit. Rail traffic has been stopped on Narkatiyaganj-Bagaha and Narkatiyaganj -Bikhnatori section of the East-Central Railway as flood water has inundated the track. <br/> In Uttar Pradesh, the flood situation remains grim even as several major rivers continued their falling trend. Around 500 villages across the state remained flood affected, of which about 200 villages are marooned. AIR Gorakhpur correspondent reports that several new areas have been gutted in flood water in Gorakhpur, Deoria and adjoining districts. <br/>
