<span style="color: #222222;">In Assam, flood situation continues to be grim as surging water inundated new areas. Seven persons lost their lives in various rain-related incidents during the last 24 hours. Huge crop, bridges, roads and culverts have been damaged in several areas due to floods and landslides. Nearly 19 lakh people are reeling under the flood fury in 28 districts. The Army, Paramilitary forces, NDRF and SDRF along with local administration are carrying out rescue operations and relief materials are being distributed among flood-affected people. Several ministers are visiting flood-hit districts to take stock of the rescue and relief works.<br />''<br />''Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured all help to Assam government to tackle the flood situation in the state. Mr. Modi spoke to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma this morning and expressed concern over the hardships being faced by the people of the state due to this natural calamity.</span><br />

The flood situation in Assam continues to be grim. More than 2.25 lakh people from 15 districts of the state have been affected by flood due to incessant rain in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and neighbouring country Bhutan.<br />'' <br />'' So far 512 villages of Assam have been affected under 34 revenue circles and 16,338 hectares of cropland have been submerged under flood water including damage of 27 roads and 2 bridges.<br />'' <br />'' According to Assam State Disaster Management Authority, Bongaigaon, Baksa, Barpeta, Biswanath, Chirang, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Majuli, Morigaon, Sonitpur,  Sivasagar, Jorhat, Lakhimpur and Tinsukia have been affected by flood.<br />'' <br />'' Central Water Commission reported that water level has crossed the danger mark and is rising in Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Goalpara and Kokrajhar districts.<br />
