Flood situation in north Bihar is still critical whereas it has slightly improved in the central part of the state. Sitamarhi and Sheohar are still facing serious flood threats as gushing waters pilling over from the Adhwara river have entered several villages of bath the Districts. Many of the blocks of both the Districts are fully cut off from their Headquarters.Rail movement between Sitamarhi and Pupri remains disturbed due to the damages caused to the railways tracks at Bajpatti by flood waters. Thousands of villagers in this area have moved to safer places. Teams of National Disaster relief force are continuing rescue and relief operation. State water resources department reports the situation under control. Meanwhile, Ganga along with Sone and other rivers have registered significant fall in its level. However water level is still above danger marks at Patna and adjoining areas. River Kosi is also calm due to the Sharp fall in its discharge.
