Flood situation continue to girm in several districts of Bihar

In Bihar, the flood situation in Darbhanga, Madhubani, Sheohar, Sitamarhi and Bhagalpur districts is still critical. The rise in the water-level of Adhwara river has inundated many villages of Darbhanga district. However, Darbhanga town is reported safe so far. District Magistrate R. Lakshmanan has ordered evacuation of people to safer places.

In Sheohar district, the flood threat continues. Tariyani Block and the adjoining areas comprising several dozen villages are badly affected. Traffic on the Sheohar-Muzaffarpur Highway is disrupted on the seventh day due to overflowing of flood water on the road.

There are reports of breach in the Raghopur embankment in the Bhagalpur district. Due to this, many villages are heavily flooded. District Magistrate Narmadeshwar Lal has directed engineers to rush to the spot and assess the situation. In Madhubani and Sitamarhi districts, there is no let up in the flood situation. Relief and rescue operations are continuing in the affected areas.
