Flood continued to play havoc in many areas of Jharkhand. A number of rivers are flowing above the danger-mark and low-lying areas have been inundated. A number of bridges have also collapsed because of incessant rain since last week. Kharkai river in Jamshedpur, Roro in West Singhbhum and some other rivers in the state are flowing above the danger-mark, flooding the low-lying areas. In Namkom area of Ranchi, hundreds of houses on banks of Swarnarekha river have been inundated. The worst-affected districts are Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Gumla, Ramgarh, Lohardaga and Latehar. Since June 15, Ranchi and Lohardaga have received over 250 mm of rain.
